Recruiting participants – App Study

We are recruiting women who have experienced unwanted or distressing sexual experiences for a research project investigating the effectiveness of two, free smartphone apps. Participation involves an introductory virtual study session (2 hours) that includes a survey, daily engagement with a free, smartphone app for ten days (10 minutes/day), completion of one daily survey for ten days (5 minutes/day), and a second virtual study session (1 hour) that includes a final survey at the end of the study. The surveys will consist of questions about your mood, thoughts, feelings, sexual experiences (e.g., nonconsensual sexual experiences, sexual assault), and demographics.

Participants will receive up to $60 for completing the study. This study will be completed completely online. Approval of this study is on file with the University of Connecticut IRB (Protocol H22-0120).

Recruiting participants – Gender, Sex, and Pain Study

Primed for pain | Science

We are recruiting participants on a study that is seeking to explore the relationships between gender, sex, and pain. You will come into our lab for a one-time 1-hour visit. You will also be asked to submerge your arm up to your elbow in ice-cold water. Last, you will be asked to supply a saliva sample to measure two sex hormone levels. For completion of the study session, you will receive a $20 VISA giftcard. Approval of this study is on file with the University of Connecticut IRB (Protocol H22-0181).
